Background
Owned by the City of Ralston, the Ralston Arena is a state of the art facility located in Ralston, Nebraska. The venue opened in October 2012 and plays host to topnotch events in a first-class environment. The venue is a multi-faceted facility that is not only home to the USHL’s Omaha Lancers, the CPIFL’s Omaha Beef, Omaha Rollergirls, and LFL’s Omaha Heart, but it also sets the stage for a wide variety of concerts and events.
Engineered Controls provided the environmental control system for the new Ralston Arena in Omaha, NE. The $36-million arena will be the host of a wide range of activities.
The 5,000 seat arena is controlled by a state-of-the art Honeywell WEBs building management system with special emphasis to maintaining strict environmental conditions utilizing geothermal heating and cooling for the central ice plant that is critical to keeping the hockey rinks frozen year-round.
The building management system consists of a Honeywell WEBs system architecture and controls a mixture of mechanical and electrical equipment including AHUs, RTUs, WSHPs, FCUs, ERVs, EFs, HP Loop, Chillers, Pumps, underfloor radiant heating and smoke exhaust system.
The Honeywell WEBs network monitors and controls in excess of 14,500 points.
