NMPP OFFICES
Lincoln, NE
Background
This prominent Midwest energy provider commissioned a new 30,000 SF building to be located in southeast Lincoln. The new $4.5 M facility was designed to house NMPP’s 48 current employees while allowing for future growth. A majority of the building is office space with an area dedicated to providing additional security to the electrical distribution dispatch service.
NMPP Energy serves nearly 200 member communities in six Midwest and Rocky Mountain states through four organizations in the areas of wholesale electricity, wholesale and retail natural gas and energy-related services.
The Nebraska Municipal Power Pool (NMPP) was created in 1975 as 19 municipal electric utilities pooled their resources to better handle escalating fuel prices while still serving their communities effectively and efficiently.
Engineered Controls began working with NMPP in 2011 as part of an earlier project called Energy Square and then again in 2012 with the completion of their latest building. Since then, Engineered Controls has been assisting operations personnel at NMPP in streamline building operations to reduce energy consumption and provide optimal comfort.
The building management system consists of a Honeywell WEBs system architecture and controls a mixture of mechanical and electrical equipment including ERVs, WSHPs, Boilers, HP Loop, Pumps, VFDs and EFs.
The Honeywell WEBs network monitors and controls in excess of 7,500 points.
