Background
Gering Public Schools, located in Gering, Nebraska, is the second largest school district in Scotts Bluff County. The district serves more than 2,000 students and has one high school, one freshman academy, one middle school, and four elementary schools. In 2011, voters approved the nearly $7 million upgrade project to the existing 86-year-old building to be completed in one phase. Starting construction in 2011, the new 50,000 square foot Lincoln Elementary School includes a two-story classroom wing, library/media center, and main entry.

Engineered Controls began working with the Gering Public Schools in 2000 as part of a school renovation project. Since then, our team and has been assisting the school’s buildings personnel in streamline building operations and help to reduce their energy costs.
The building management system to be installed in the new Gering Schools will consists of a Honeywell WEBs system architecture and controls a mixture of mechanical and electrical equipment including RTUs, MUAs, ERVs, ACs, VAVs, WSHPs, EFs, KEFs, Geothermal water system, HW system including Boilers, Pumps, CUHs, UHs and fin tube radiation.
When finished, the Honeywell WEBs network monitors and control in excess of 20,000 points.
