Background
Sidney Public Schools, located in Sidney, Nebraska, is the largest school district in Cheyenne County. The district serves more than 1,300 students and has one high school, one middle school, and four elementary schools. In 2009, the school district demolished the old High School built in 1933 and the addition added in 1965 and built a new, 110,000 SF, state of the art High School. In 2014 the school district passed a bond to upgrade the mechanical systems in the Middle School and West Elementary School.
Engineered Controls began working with the Sidney Public Schools in 2009 as part of a new High School Project. Since then, we have completed the installation of Full DDC controls replacing the old pneumatics systems at the Middle School and the West Elementary School.
The building management system to be installed in all three schools consists of a Honeywell WEBs system architecture and controls a mixture of mechanical systems including RTUs, MUAs, ACs, VAVs, WSHPs, EFs, KEFs,, HW system including Boilers, Pumps, CUHs, UHs and fin tube radiation.
