DENNEY FEDERAL BUILDING
Lincoln, NE
Background
The Robert V. Denney Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, located at 100 Centennial Mall North, Lincoln, Nebraska, was constructed in 1974. It is a 5-story steel structure with exterior finishes of white terrazzo panels on the ground level, and cut limestone as the finish for the second through fifth floors. The building has 508,817 gross square feet of space. It houses several diverse agencies including the lead agency, the U. S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Since 2001, Engineered Controls has worked with the Denney Federal Building to develop a process to start replacing the existing pneumatic controls in the building. Today, with an upgraded control system, Engineered Controls works with Denney Federal operations personnel in reducing utility consumption and at the same time providing optimal tenant comfort.
The building management system consists of a Honeywell WEBs system architecture and controls a mixture of mechanical and electrical
equipment including RTUs, AHUs, DDMBs, VAVs, EFs, UHs, Chiller and Boiler plant and multiple 3rd Party integration with other vendor open protocol equipment.
The Honeywell WEBs network monitors and control in excess of 21,000 points.
