HRUSKA US FEDERAL COURTHOUSE

Background
The Roman L. Hruska Federal Courthouse is a 350,000 SF, $70 million, Federal Courthouse located at 111 S. 18th Plaza in Downtown Omaha, Nebraska. Completed in 2000, the six story courthouse serves the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska, and features nine courtrooms and a central atrium. It was the first courthouse in the country to be built under the GSA’s Design Excellence Program.
Engineered Controls began working with Hruska Federal Courthouse as part of the original construction team and has been assisting the buildings facility personnel in streamline building operations and help to reduce their energy costs.
The building management system consists of a Honeywell WEBs system architecture and controls a mixture of mechanical and electrical equipment including AHUs, VAVs, ERUs, FCUs, EFs, Chillers, Boilers, Pumps, CUHs, and UHs.
Central plant heating and cooling is accomplished through the use of HW and CW
heat exchangers from a private downtown central energy plant.
The Honeywell WEBs network monitors and control in excess of 10,500 points.
