McCook Community Hospital

Background
Built in 1974, McCook Community Hospital is a 25-bed critical access, not for profit, Joint Commission accredited facility. In 2009 Community Hospital added a 25,000 square feet patient wing along with remolding there 26,000 square feet surgical and operating rooms along with a new cancer center built in 2012. McCook Community Hospital is now equipped to care for more the 30,000 people in the area with all it has to offer.
Engineered Controls began working with the McCook Community Hospital HVAC in 2009 when the hospital expanded the medical facility. Engineered Controls faced and overcame many obstacles throughout the years of work on this project. These have ranged from working on a new construction project to working on retro fit projects and not interrupting the hospital on its daily activities. Since 2010, Engineered Controls has been assisting the McCook Community Hospital operations personnel in streamline building operations and help to reduce their energy costs.
The building management system installed by Engineered Controls uses Honeywell WEBs system architecture and controls a mixture of mechanical and electrical equipment including AHUs, RTUs, ERVs, VAVs, Chiller and Boiler plant, Pumps, FCUs, EFs and UHs. In addition, the BMS monitors Energy sub-metering, lighting and 3rd party interrogation to an existing JCI Metasys system.
The Honeywell WEBs network monitors and controls in excess of 20,000 points.
