JOSLYN ART MUSEUM
Omaha, NE
Background
The Joslyn Art Museum is the principal fine arts museum in the state of Nebraska, United States of America. Located in Omaha, it was opened in 1931 at the initiative of Sarah H. Joslyn in memory of her husband, businessman George A. Joslyn. It is the only museum in the state with a comprehensive permanent collection and its greatest strengths are the outstanding art collections of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries of American and European artists.
Joslyn Art Museum has been a premier center for the visual arts for over 80 years. Major temporary special exhibitions are offered annually, along with concerts, lectures, events, classes, mobile and guided tours, and more.
The Joslyn Art Museum’s facility is divided into two distinct areas, the Memorial Building and the Pavilion Building. The HVAC mechanical systems for both buildings are controlled by a single building management system installed by Engineered Controls.
The building management system consists of a Honeywell WEBs system architecture and controls a mixture of mechanical and electrical equipment including AHUs, FCUs, EFs, VAVs, Fin Tub radiation and Pumps. In addition, the BMS system also has extensive space monitoring of temperature, humidity and CO2 levels. The primary heating and cooling systems are provided via heat exchangers from a private downtown central energy plant.
The Honeywell WEBs network monitors and controls in excess of 10,000 points.
