TEMPLE ISRAEL SYNAGOGUE
Omaha, NE
Background
In August 2013, Nebraska’s oldest Jewish congregation celebrated its move to a new west Omaha synagogue located in Sterling Ridge, a 150-acre mixed use development located at 132nd and Pacific Street in Omaha, NE. The 58,500 SF synagogue features stone from a Jerusalem quarry and artwork by an international group of artists. The new sanctuary seats nearly 900 and there is more room for weddings and other events, and more classroom space for youth and adult programs.
Temple Israel is the first house of worship on a planned tri-faith site on 35 acres in the Sterling Ridge retail-office-residential development.
Engineered Controls began working with Temple Israel as part of the original construction and has been assisting the buildings personnel in streamline building operations and help to reduce their energy costs.
The building management system consists of a Honeywell WEBs system architecture and controls a mixture of mechanical and electrical equipment including AHUs, VAVs, FCUs, EFs, Chillers, Boilers, Pumps, CUHs, and UHs.
The Honeywell WEBs network monitors and control in excess of 8,500 points.
